Stargazing Tours
Join Starshine to marvel at our incredible universe in the gorgeous setting at House on Metolius. You'll take in the brilliance of Central Oregon's night sky while locating constellations, observing visible planets, the moon, and other celestial objects, and listening to ancient stories about the stars.
Tours begin about a half hour after sunset. Stay after the one-hour tour to get a glimpse into the deep sky through a telescope that magnifies the naked eye by 350. Each group receives a sky map, specialized to the month of viewing and binoculars to borrow.
Starshine also offers a special Summer Solstice Tour and Fall Equinox Tour. If you've been to one our Stargazing Tours, the Solstice and Equinox tours offer something new and special! It puts a special focus on the solstice/equinox with a unique ancient story and facts about these special nights of the year.

"Our family gathered at the House on Metolius, and we were thrilled to learn that this year, all guests had the opportunity to participate in a stargazing tour. Jennie was exceptional — she made sure we knew exactly what to bring for comfort, what to expect, and guided us through an unforgettable experience. With a group of all ages, everyone had an incredible time. We highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for something unique and memorable!" ~Kilee (2025)

"What a fantastic job you did with our group! Everyone loved your presentation. Thank you for what seemed like going above and beyond sharing star science in addition to the story telling. It added depth and sparked more curiosity. This was a great add to my retreat." ~ Teddy (2024)
