Stargazing
in
Sisters

an International Dark Sky Community

Stargaze in a dark sky certified community!

"It was fascinating looking at the stars and learning about them, the constellations, and planets. I liked having the sky chart and learning how to use it--very cool! Now I have developed a better informed appreciation for the dark night sky." ~Jana (2022)

Join Starshine to marvel at our incredible universe in the gorgeous setting of Sisters, Oregon! You'll take in the brilliance of Central Oregon’s night sky while, locating constellations, observing visible planets, the moon, and other celestial objects, and listening to ancient stories about the stars.

Tours begin about a half hour after sunset. Stay after the one-hour tour to get a glimpse into the deep sky through a telescope that magnifies the naked eye by 350. Each group receives a sky map, specialized to the month of viewing and binoculars to borrow.

Private Stargazing Tours

Private stargazing tours are specially tailored to your interests, schedule, and location. We offer private tours at The Suttle Lodge, or we can go to any private location in Central Oregon to stargaze with you. Depending on the limitations of your location, we can accommodate up to 50 people for a private tour.

At The Suttle Lodge, groups of up to six people gather on the dock for an intimate hour with the Universe. Stars shimmer on the lake as we gaze into the skies, for a truly magnificent evening!

"Our guide, Jennie, was awesome and stargazing was a highlight of our vacation. She tailored the experience and kept my 3 and 5 year olds engaged. They sat still for 1 hour (!) learning about the stars. Now they repeat facts about black holes, the Milky Way and red giants. My husband and I loved it too." ~ Dena (2022)
