Design. Create. Perform.
At Starshine Theater Summer Camps kids leap into the fantastic world of imagination for a week of designing, creating, and performing their own show!
They play games, make art, dance, act, and create their very own exciting show all in a professional performance space. Starshine Theater Camp starts with kids getting to know each other and their instructor(s). Then, they create their characters, some exciting plot turns, and the setting for their show. After camp, Director, Jennie Sharp takes what the kids have created and writes a one-of-a-kind play. Over the next few days, each kid will develop the characters they created on day-one, learn their lines, create sets, costumes and props, and work as a team to rehearse the play. Kids also play games to learn various acting techniques, build the ensemble, and have fun splashing in the Splash Pad at Fir Street Park! During the last hour of each week of camp, the kids present their play to the community on the Songbird Stage at Fir Street Park.
Kids are responsible for bringing their own snack/lunch, bathing suit and towel for the splash pad, and water bottle each day, as well as their own costume for the performance.
Kids who participate will receive a FREE Starshine T-shirt! (one per participant per year)
